Public Response to Does anyone know where forex brokers get their exchange rate quotation from? I mean which bank they refer to.?

  1. One way or another it comes from the interbank market, and then they slap on a pip or two for them to make a profit.
  2. In forex, there is no centralised location to trade and extract the rates from. The market is so large and involves many participants, that no single player, including banks and governments, can directly control or make any significant influence over the resulting exchange rates. Central banks, commercial banks, international corporations, money managers, speculators, and private individuals are all involved in forex.
