Should I finish my education or chase my dream??

I'm a senior in accounting/finance. I know it will be difficult for me to land a job in this bad economy even if I can graduate next year with my degree. On the other hand, I've been trading Forex with consistent profits for a long period now. I haven't been trading with alot of money so the amount haven't accumulated too much. Making 8-10 percent weekly gain is average for me, which can potentially make me one of the best traders in the world IF I can keep it up. I plan to take a full-time job at Chase in the evening next semester, because I need money and office experience. However, there's no way I can trade, go to school, and work at the same time. Some things just gotta go. I don't know if I should let go of Forex or school. If Forex fails on me, I will lose money and time. If it works out, I can hit multi-million levels in 2 years. However, completing my bachelors may or may not give me a secure income.

Public Response to Should I finish my education or chase my dream??

  1. Follow your dream - if you dont you will always be wondering "what if?"... do what makes you happy
  2. Finish school first, absolutely. Once you have your education, you can never, ever lose it, no matter what happens to the economy. It will still be yours. School first, money later. Trust me on this. You'll be glad you did.
  3. finish your degree. you only have a year left. after you get your degree you can go back to doing trading. but if it doesnt work out, you will always have your degree to fall back on.
  4. Completing your education can help you a lot too, since you will have your diploma (and sometimes a diploma is very necessary) and your diploma nobody can take away from you.
  5. Do both...
  6. Finnish your degree first. even if you have to go part time. you can promise yorself to go back to school if your dream flops, but that promise is almost always broken.
  7. In a year's time, 2 of these 3 boats ain't going to float. I was in the B. Comm. program too and I know how intense it is. The market will crash, the banks will collapse and the only things that will be of value are food, tools for survival and your streetsmarts. Finishing school will show that you have character as well as ability. The degree will be the most valuable asset of the 3 no matter how bad the economy gets. Commerce grads are leaders. Traders and bankers will be jumping out of high-rise windows like they did in the crash of 1929. Invest in yourself.
  8. just take a big poop and youll be all beter
