Is there even one reputable forex broker? I have a fiar bit of experience trading forex. I decided to change my broker because their platforms kept freezing up. (OANDA) I am finding that even the best brokers only rate in the 63rd percentile for satisfaction. Someone is using a great forex broker somewhere. Does anyone know who that great broker or brokers is/are for small accounts? Thanks

Forex Broker Concerns? I've looked at what several websites and forums have said about and how they have rated several different ECN brokers, based on a variety of criteria. What concerns me most, however, is whether or not there are "maximum leverage amounts" and "withdrawal limits." What I mean by "maximum leverage amount" is not by how much your account can be leveraged (such as 100:1 or 200:1), but the actual maximum dollar amount. Someone told me most brokers set a limit of 50 standard lots (or $5 million) per trade. Is this correct? Are you really unable to purchase more than 50 standard lots in one trade? I was also told that very high volume trades would be passed along to the real market, even by ECNs, and that this would prevent the trade from being executed "instantly." Hypothetically, if you were trading $1 million or more per trade, by how long could your trade be delayed? Would it be minutes, or could it be several hours or even longer? And by "withdrawal limits," I mean are there usually limits in place as to how such (in dollar amounts) any client is able to withdrawal from his/her account to a bank account (or through a similar process of getting funds out), such as weekly or monthly? If so, if someone were to actually become a Forex "millionaire," wouldn't it take him/her several decades just to withdrawal the money from his/her account, little by little? I've heard of dealing desk brokers that have "closed" client accounts because they grew too large (were too successful). However, would there be any reason or incentive for a real ECN broker (a reputable one) to close one's account because it became too large? And might it actually depend on how large the broker is? I'm looking at major and renowned ECN brokers such as MB Trading, Interbank FX, Interactive Brokers, Dukascopy, ACM, and ATG, among others. Thank you in advance to anyone who can tackle this query!
Which, in your opinion, are the overall most reputable and rate-accessible on-line "Forex Brokers", and why? In other words: Considering overall reputation, margins offered, fees charged, service features and quality, etc., which on-line Forex Brokers do you regard as the best? ... Also: Any tips on how to watch out for on-line Forex frauds and scamming ploys? Thanks!
Forex Swap: Does it vary from broker to broker? I see some sites showing different swap rates for different brokers, does each broker has a different swap?
How do Forex brokers like forex.com, fxcm.com, etc. make their profits? How do Forex brokers like forex.com, fxcm.com, etc. make their profits? I know about the spread between bid and offer rates, but is there something else they do, eg. some accounting trickery or smart management of assets and liabilities, that makes their owners rich? I look forward to receiving competent answers. Thank you very much!
Where can I find a raking for the FX brokers Alpari and Neuimex ? The forex brokers Alpari and Neuimex, deal based on Metaquotes trading platfom, where can I find a rating or comparison and info about that brokers ?
Can anyone trade forex in uk? I have been thinking about trying my hand at trading forex. I have used demo accounts in the past and made a bit of "pretend" money, and now i fancy doing it for real. I started an online application for a forex trading account and I see that they ask you about your income and savings, which made me wonder... Do forex brokers allow anyone to trade (as long as your credit rating is ok) or can an application be denied if your income or savings are below a certain level? Also, they ask if i've had any experience in any other trading, stocks, futures, spread betting, etc, to which the answer would be no. Does this matter?
Is it possible to receive leverege for a "forex carry trade"? What would be the terms of the leverege? I was thinking about investing 1000 USD and use leverege from some broker firm, put that money in some country with a hight interest rate, and "protect" myself by using "forward exchange contracts". What do you think?

Recommendations for online FOREX brokers in Australia? I am interested in starting FOREX, but there are too many online platforms to choose from... FOREX.com, Easy-Forex, OzForex... the list goes on forever... It doesn't have to be an Australian company, but out of those that I can open up an account and start trading from Australia, which one would you recommend? * Mainly planning to trade between AUD, USD, and JPY, so I want to know the ones with low spreads for these currency pairs. * Low, or no commission would be nice too off course. * Not so concerned about leverage and swap rates. Thanks in advance!
confused about leverage in forex brokers? let's say you put in 1000 usd and the leverage is 100:1. you trade let's say for instance USD/JPY at a rate of 1 USD for every 100 Yen for example. you buy USD and you run out of money in your account. my question is, is the leverage ALREADY given to the trader or the trader is trading without leverage meaning that the trader's 1000 USD can become 100,000 dollars? i'm confused because i heard that you can only buy or sell in the amount of 100,000.
Forex traders, can you help me? I have a site http://www.bestforexreports.com that is driven by unbiased user ratings of forex products and services. How forex cross currency works? Hi there, I need someone to educate me the following. Say I open a Forex account with ECN broker that only gives 1:1 leverage. I deposited USD$10m. Then I place a trade buying EUR/GBP with USD$10m. Questions: Does that mean I am buying EUR and selling GBP? Do I broker deal with bank in Europe to buy EUR and bank in England to sell GBP? D I use US dollar to buy EUR? If yes is there a conversion rate Overall I want to understand what are all the transactions carry out behind the scene. Your time to explain this is very much appreciated.
Tax on Forex profits in the UK? *** If you cannot be bothered to read this entire thread, please just read the paragraph below and comment on the limited information. *** I've read too many discussion forums on this subject and following which I have called HMRC on this issue and they said any form of forex trading, regardless of whether you have a full time 9-5 job, is regarded as trading depending on the frequency and knowledge of the subject. They said it cannot be regarded as gambling as per spread forex trades are and is therefore liable to tax and that too, income tax not capital gains tax because it is regarded as "trading". Can someone in the UK who trades forex and has experiencing of dealing with HMRC please confirm their situation. I have outlined my scenarios as follows: Background to query •I may casually on Sunday evenings, weekday evenings or occasionally during weekday lunch hours place some speculative forex positions with a currency broker to try and profit from a rise or fall in a particular currency e.g. GBP v Australian Dollar or US dollar. Most brokers will provide leverage to finance the position e.g. a £1m position will require me to put a deposit of 1% i.e. £10,000 as collateral. In addition to a profit or loss that materialises from the trade when it is closed, interest is either than earned or paid by me, depending on whether I buy the currency (going long) or sell the currency (going short). For the purpose of this example, let’s assume that the interest rate either way is £20 per day •In terms of time spent dedicated to this “speculative currency undertaking”, it is difficult to quantify because I might place an automated limit order to buy or sell something which takes 2 minutes to do and then not look at again until I receive an email notification that the trade has executed and then place a limit order to close the trade with the target profit. Often, I may leave my iphone connected to the page that displays live information whether a transaction has been executed or not. As I have a day job, my time is devoted to that and not to currency trading. In the evenings, I may watch the prices whilst eating dinner / watching tv / playing with kids (but I am not glued to a trading screen) •The volume of trading could be anything from £250,000 per leveraged trade to £1m per leveraged trade and positions could be opened and closed from 2 times per month to 20 times per month (I don’t think the size of the trade should matter here because the broker is funding the majority of the position, and the frequency is no different to somebody buying and selling many times on the stock market in the month be it on margin trading or outright purchase) Could you please advise how HMRC will view the following situations in relation to tax in respect of the above: Scenario 1 •As an employee with a full time job and my primary job/income not related to the activity of forex at all, I regard this speculation as a means of personal gain or loss. I am not a professional forex trader. I am simply a person who reads the papers, financial news and makes an informed decision and may make or lose money on the trade. I would undertake the forex trade as an outright cash (spot) transaction with the broker who would finance it i.e. not a “spread trade”. This example is no different to someone who likes to undertake equity share trading as a frequent hobby. How is any tax treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Is this regarded as gambling and therefore no taxes are paid on profits and no relief can be granted against losses? Scenario 2 •As per situation 1, except this time the transaction is undertaken as a “spread trade” which is therefore regarded as gambling and therefore not subject to either income tax or CGT (again this is not my primary job), rather than as an outright cash (spot) purchase/sale by the broker. How is any tax and relief treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Scenario 3 •If I opened a forex account in the name of my wife and I undertake all forex trading on her behalf (under her name), and her full time job is as a dentist , how is any tax treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Scenario 4 •Because technically I have a religious issue with gambling, yet current laws permit favourable tax treatment towards spread betting and gambling i.e. it is not taxable “if it is not regarding as trading and your main job”, my preference would be to undertake such position NOT via a spread trade. However, at risk of facing tax liabilities if I went the “non-spread betting route”, I don’t favour that idea either. Is there any way in which speculative forex trading (cash) can be undertaken which offers similar advantages as spread-betting but not necessarily via that route?
FOREX question: What is the advantage of having a 'standard' account over a 'mini' account? this broker offers 200:1 for minis, but 100:1 for standards. I don't think I'll actually try more than about 50:1, but w/e, so is lot size of 100,000 considered and advantage because you don't have to get bas busy to place orders? There must be a more signoficant reason to differentiate between the two accounts. Maybe the spread gets better? Maybe insterest rates are better? 4XTrader... Can I work for you?
what is the truth about forex? I traded succesfuly in a demo account for 3 months, now if i can make a 10 % monthly accumulated, then it seems like i can score a million in 4 or 5 years. now what's the catch ?? i use scalping and also trade in 15 min frame trading, use several indicators, now there are several miths (or thuths i dont know) out there about forex: it's a zero sum game !!! ecn dont manipulate your prices like market makers do!!! forex is a scam they hunt your stops and or manipulate prices, they delay your orders !! when you start making a lot of money they close your account !! they dont let you withdraw your money!! It takes a little comon sense to realize that it is not a zero sum game since a currency pair that moves 100 pips in one direction from 1.2810 to 1.2910 ten guys can make ten pips each buying and selling each other. and even the last guy could probably buy for a longer position and hold for days or weeks with larger stops. I also heard that things changes when you move from a demo to a real live account: with slippage and other problems. Now with so many scams it is hard to make a desicion about what broker to choose. FXCM, CITI, SAXO, CMC, CMS, OANDA, ETORO, FOREX.COM, GFT. Seems to be the best rated, but then again is so easy to fake a review, plus i found all of them to have negative reviews in some websites. My question is what is the technical difference between a real and demo account, not the emotional of course when you trade a real one you risking hard earned money. i also found this link in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forex_scams CFTC investigated more than 80 cases involving the defrauding of more than 23,000 customers who lost $350 million. So im looking for somebody out there that has been trading succesfuly for more than a year, and tell me his/her experience regarding all this matters. What is the best broker, ecn and so on and on. I appreciate any help and comments, best of luck.

Can I open a Forex account to exchange USD for CAD, and what about taxes? I just came to Canada as a permanent resident. I am looking to buy a house and need to exchange some money from USD to CAD. I am looking for a place that can give me a good exchange rate. The banks don't give me good exchange rates (their spreads are so high), so I was thinking about opening a Forex account and trade my USD for CAD. I called a local broker and he asked me to set up a Forex account. Once the account has been set up, he said I would be able to exchange my USD for CAD at a much better exchange rate (compared to the banks). Now my questions are: 1) Is it true that people can open a Forex account to exchange money (e.g. from USD to CAD or the other way) ? 2) In my case, it will just be a one time exchange (from USD to CAD). So do I have to pay any kinds of tax related to this ? And at the end of the tax year, do I need to declare anything about this when I file my tax ? 3) If the Forex way doesn't work out for me, are there other alternatives ? Thanks a lot for your help.
Cheapest broker that allows cash trades? I'm looking for a broker that offers $1 to $2 per trade on a totally cash based account. I don't have 25,000 to toss into a margin trading account but I want to daytrade hence I must find a broker which allows a 100% cash account as an option. I've found a couple of brokerages who offer $1 trades but these are all on margin accounts so I cannot daytrade. Currently I am using sogo and their $3 per trade price is pretty good except they don't allow after hours trading. So I need a broker that: 1) Has cheap $1 to $3 trades. 2) Offers a cash only account with and initial deposit much less than 25k 3) Allows afterhours trading 4) If they allow forex and commodities that's an extra plus for when I start on those. So far I have looked at interactive brokers but they want a whopping 10k deposited and I think it's margin only. Sogo elite also offers margin only but no cash accounts even though their rates are $1 a trade.
I live in Russia. Can I use US stock broker? Hi. I got some money (about $4k) and I want to invest them. Currently I keep them in a local bank and get about a 5 percent year interest rate. The inflation in my country is about 10 percent and growing, so now I’m loosing. There’re some banks which can give me about 12 percent for long-term deposits but it doesn’t work for me either. So now I’m looking for other ways to make my cash work for me. I wonder: can I do it with a help of some US (EU or UK) broker? I’d like to give my bucks to some mutual fund or try a forex trading. I got a visa card and can create a PayPal account if required. Another question: would I have to pay my income taxes and where (in Russia or in the US)? Thanks in advance.

Forex Questions - Defining various terms? What are Swap Fees, and how are they calculated? How is the Margin level calculated, and when will they automatically close losing trades? Is there any kind of exchange rate with brokers in another country? For example, if I am trading a Demo Account with Alpari UK and I reside in the United States, will some of my profits be lost through any kind of conversion through their domestic currency (the pound)? Or, if I invest in say the EUR/USD, will any of my profits be lost through any kind of conversions from the EUR to the USD? Thanks in advance.
Can someone explain Carry Trading to me? What is the approximate interest rate for a long-term hedge (in Forex) using EUR/USD and USD/CHF. Of course this is dependent on your broker, but could someone explain how to calculate it please? Thanks.
Hong Kong & U.S Tax treaty (trading related)? Hi all, What is the tax situation regarding a HK citizen/resident trading through a brokerage in the U.S. In this case trading FOREX through a US forex broker. Is there a tax treaty? and would you be taxed by the U.S. or Hong Kong or both? Any idea what the tax rate is? Thanks :)
Binary Options xposed.com with broker Option-world.com are they trustworthy ? They are claiming 90% hit rate.? BinaryOptionsXposed.com ? Has anyone successfully used them ? They are selling Stock & Forex Systems for binary option trading, which claims a very high hit rate. It's traded on a 5 minute candle stick chart for a maximum of 15 minutes. As it's directional, only needs to be 1 pip higher or more for a winning Call & just 1 pip lower for a Put, on YouTube several videos show high success rates, for this type of trading. They are partnered with Option-World.com & have several deposit plans, ranging from $500 up to $2500, to allow one to gain "free" access to their trading real-time forecasts And actual Trading Manuals. I just want to hear from people who know of & have possible used these services. Are these two companies to be trusted... are could this be some sort of scam ? Factual replies will carry more weight than guesses & hunches. Many thanks... If you are yourself trading Binary Options, would love to hear from you. That's it, thanks again...
Help! What are good investments today? Help! I am losing all my hard earned savings! This is how my portfolio is structured: 30% in cash. Interest rate (2%) is much lower than inflation and my savings are steadily deteriorating every month... Add to it dollar's steady collapse and you have loss of 2% value every month. 10% in Icelandic currency that yields 15%. Perhaps the interest rate is higher than inflation but in the last two weeks alone that currency lost 20% to dollar... 15% in stocks. Everyone knows what happened... I invested in a index fund which is now down 10% in dollar terms (20% real terms). People around say stocks are still over-valued... 5% in gold through a forex broker - the volatility is so high that my deposit got wiped out twice already even though gold is going up long term.... It is now very expensive, should I hold onto that? 40% in property. Property was purchased a year ago out right so no mortgage, but it's value is dropping since then in $ terms and in real terms even more... WHAT TO DO?
Help! What are good investments today? I want only to keep the value of my money...? Help, I am losing all my hard earned savings! My portfolio: 30% in cash. Interest rate is lower than inflation so cash steadily loses its value. Add dollar's slide abroad and you have over 10% loss p.a. 10% in Icelandic currency that yields 15%. Perhaps the interest rate is higher than inflation but in the last two weeks alone that currency lost 20% to US$! Experts are saying it will drop further. 15% in stocks. Invested in an index fund which is now down 10% in dollar terms (20% real terms). And I read that stocks are still over-valued. 5% in gold and oil through a forex broker. Volatility is so high that my deposit got wiped out twice even though commodities are going up long term. They are now very expensive, should I still hold them and hope to make up the loses? 40% in property. I purchased it a year ago in cash, no mortgage. Starting FOREX: Exchanging money? I have saved quite some money (equivalent to 10k$) and i am thinking about making it grow thru exchanging currencies. but I don't know how to start. I don't like to hire some brokers, I want to do it by myself, though I don't know how. I looked at banks but they have their own SELLING and BUYING rate. Where can I practice this? thanks
Best place to invest for Roth IRA? I'm interested in setting up a new Roth IRA each year and putting the maximum amount I can put into it (hopefully $5,000) annually. I'm curious as to which broker to use. Which ones have the best return rates? I am a member of T. Rowe Price and people have told me that Health Sciences is a good pick, but didn't explain why. I'm planning on retiring at around 60 or so and I'm only 22 right now. My goal is to save $5,000 / year for my Roth IRA's first and foremost. Then, I will use approximately 60% of my remaining profits to play the stock market and possibly get into Forex Trading (possibly!). Any profit generated from that will be reinvested either in the market or put temporarily into a savings account for the next year (for my Roth IRA). Anyways, since I'm gonna have many Roth IRA's, I need to know which one is a good pick for right now and why. Also, can I put in a monthly payment on a Roth IRA instead of a lump sum contribution? Thanks!
Foreign Exchange - How do you lose money? Before I start exchanging currencies, I need to learn as much as possible including the basics of forex. The only thing that I need to know is how can you lose with foreign exchange. Since it's not like shares where its possible to lose if its value drops, with foreign exchange, you can buy or sell whenever you like even if it means in 10 years time. I understand that if you have leverage from brokers, you lose out with the interest rates of borrowing the money to buy/sell. ***But say if I don't borrow any money from brokers and use my own capital that i'm willing to use, then there is no interest rates since i haven't borrowed money and therefore does it mean that I can never lose out? I'll simply just sell when the rates are high...*** Thanks for any contributors. I really want to learn about these things :)

Is circumventing negative Forex swap legal? Hello, I'm an up and coming Foreign Exchange trader. Recently, I was made aware of interest rates and swaps and learned that swap free accounts are available to Muslims. Although these accounts are made for Muslims, many of these brokers allow anyone to have a swap free account. However, I read somewhere that it is illegal to have an account for earning swap as well as an account for circumventing swap. It's possible that does not apply to the jurisdiction which I reside. (Northwest Unites States.) I can't seem to find any answers online pertaining to this, does anyone know?
