what is the truth about forex? I traded succesfuly in a demo account for 3 months, now if i can make a 10 % monthly accumulated, then it seems like i can score a million in 4 or 5 years. now what's the catch ?? i use scalping and also trade in 15 min frame trading, use several indicators, now there are several miths (or thuths i dont know) out there about forex: it's a zero sum game !!! ecn dont manipulate your prices like market makers do!!! forex is a scam they hunt your stops and or manipulate prices, they delay your orders !! when you start making a lot of money they close your account !! they dont let you withdraw your money!! It takes a little comon sense to realize that it is not a zero sum game since a currency pair that moves 100 pips in one direction from 1.2810 to 1.2910 ten guys can make ten pips each buying and selling each other. and even the last guy could probably buy for a longer position and hold for days or weeks with larger stops. I also heard that things changes when you move from a demo to a real live account: with slippage and other problems. Now with so many scams it is hard to make a desicion about what broker to choose. FXCM, CITI, SAXO, CMC, CMS, OANDA, ETORO, FOREX.COM, GFT. Seems to be the best rated, but then again is so easy to fake a review, plus i found all of them to have negative reviews in some websites. My question is what is the technical difference between a real and demo account, not the emotional of course when you trade a real one you risking hard earned money. i also found this link in wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forex_scams CFTC investigated more than 80 cases involving the defrauding of more than 23,000 customers who lost $350 million. So im looking for somebody out there that has been trading succesfuly for more than a year, and tell me his/her experience regarding all this matters. What is the best broker, ecn and so on and on. I appreciate any help and comments, best of luck.

I have a serious problem with my Java and it's affecting my work!? Ok, I work on the website http://www.fxstreet.com/rates-charts/forex-rates/ Now this opens a box that has prices and currencies and it changes every few seconds. Green arrows and red arrows appear, that indicated the live activity of the site. Anyways, everything works well on my desktop XP with Java 1.5 (the icon of a blue cup of coffee). BUT, it does not work on my laptop Vista even though I've installed v 6.0 (the orange box icon). The numbers in the box appear just they don't move! That indicated that the application is not working! Now don't tell me the site ain't working, because it's only on that computer. By the way, I've tried everything that uses Java on my laptop from applications to games and they all work!! How can I fix that problem with that site, please, because that's basically my work and it all depends on that stupid Java. I really really need help. Thanks!!
Tax on Forex profits in the UK? *** If you cannot be bothered to read this entire thread, please just read the paragraph below and comment on the limited information. *** I've read too many discussion forums on this subject and following which I have called HMRC on this issue and they said any form of forex trading, regardless of whether you have a full time 9-5 job, is regarded as trading depending on the frequency and knowledge of the subject. They said it cannot be regarded as gambling as per spread forex trades are and is therefore liable to tax and that too, income tax not capital gains tax because it is regarded as "trading". Can someone in the UK who trades forex and has experiencing of dealing with HMRC please confirm their situation. I have outlined my scenarios as follows: Background to query •I may casually on Sunday evenings, weekday evenings or occasionally during weekday lunch hours place some speculative forex positions with a currency broker to try and profit from a rise or fall in a particular currency e.g. GBP v Australian Dollar or US dollar. Most brokers will provide leverage to finance the position e.g. a £1m position will require me to put a deposit of 1% i.e. £10,000 as collateral. In addition to a profit or loss that materialises from the trade when it is closed, interest is either than earned or paid by me, depending on whether I buy the currency (going long) or sell the currency (going short). For the purpose of this example, let’s assume that the interest rate either way is £20 per day •In terms of time spent dedicated to this “speculative currency undertaking”, it is difficult to quantify because I might place an automated limit order to buy or sell something which takes 2 minutes to do and then not look at again until I receive an email notification that the trade has executed and then place a limit order to close the trade with the target profit. Often, I may leave my iphone connected to the page that displays live information whether a transaction has been executed or not. As I have a day job, my time is devoted to that and not to currency trading. In the evenings, I may watch the prices whilst eating dinner / watching tv / playing with kids (but I am not glued to a trading screen) •The volume of trading could be anything from £250,000 per leveraged trade to £1m per leveraged trade and positions could be opened and closed from 2 times per month to 20 times per month (I don’t think the size of the trade should matter here because the broker is funding the majority of the position, and the frequency is no different to somebody buying and selling many times on the stock market in the month be it on margin trading or outright purchase) Could you please advise how HMRC will view the following situations in relation to tax in respect of the above: Scenario 1 •As an employee with a full time job and my primary job/income not related to the activity of forex at all, I regard this speculation as a means of personal gain or loss. I am not a professional forex trader. I am simply a person who reads the papers, financial news and makes an informed decision and may make or lose money on the trade. I would undertake the forex trade as an outright cash (spot) transaction with the broker who would finance it i.e. not a “spread trade”. This example is no different to someone who likes to undertake equity share trading as a frequent hobby. How is any tax treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Is this regarded as gambling and therefore no taxes are paid on profits and no relief can be granted against losses? Scenario 2 •As per situation 1, except this time the transaction is undertaken as a “spread trade” which is therefore regarded as gambling and therefore not subject to either income tax or CGT (again this is not my primary job), rather than as an outright cash (spot) purchase/sale by the broker. How is any tax and relief treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Scenario 3 •If I opened a forex account in the name of my wife and I undertake all forex trading on her behalf (under her name), and her full time job is as a dentist , how is any tax treatment on profit/loss made here and is it regarded as income or capital gains? Scenario 4 •Because technically I have a religious issue with gambling, yet current laws permit favourable tax treatment towards spread betting and gambling i.e. it is not taxable “if it is not regarding as trading and your main job”, my preference would be to undertake such position NOT via a spread trade. However, at risk of facing tax liabilities if I went the “non-spread betting route”, I don’t favour that idea either. Is there any way in which speculative forex trading (cash) can be undertaken which offers similar advantages as spread-betting but not necessarily via that route?
can anyone help me PLZ? i m new in FOREX and stuck in the middle of trades with my mistakes. situation is this? open position is GBPUSD ,3 lots SELL and 3 lots BUY at the moment. my loss is $16000 in live account. now changing rate does not effect the loss , bad thing is this that i got less than $300 in variation margin and have to pay interest on every day market closing. i am very very upset dont know what to do . if i leave the account as it is . i fear that in few days it could close the position automatically.i will really appreciate and thankful if anyone help me. thanks
I live in Russia. Can I use US stock broker? Hi. I got some money (about $4k) and I want to invest them. Currently I keep them in a local bank and get about a 5 percent year interest rate. The inflation in my country is about 10 percent and growing, so now I’m loosing. There’re some banks which can give me about 12 percent for long-term deposits but it doesn’t work for me either. So now I’m looking for other ways to make my cash work for me. I wonder: can I do it with a help of some US (EU or UK) broker? I’d like to give my bucks to some mutual fund or try a forex trading. I got a visa card and can create a PayPal account if required. Another question: would I have to pay my income taxes and where (in Russia or in the US)? Thanks in advance.
Question about borrowing in Japan from US? I am living in the US and I was wondering if anyone knows how to borrow from the Bank of Japan? They have the best interest rates and was wondering if it is possible to borrow from them. I have been looking and looking and cannot find the answer. Would a person have to do it thru the FOREX market? If you have done it please let me know. I am guessing that if it can be done it has to be done in multiples of 100K.???? If you can help that would be great. OR IF YOU KNOW OF PLACES TO BORROW THAT HAVE ULTRA LOW RATES I WOULD APPRECIATE THE INFO!!!!!!! Thanks in advance.

Is happy traders fx a SCAM ? I had a horrible experience being a member of happy traders fx this is my review and rating, I wasted 2 month worth of time and $400 dollars in member subscription fees. I had seen some reviews about how great it was, well it’s NOT and the service is run by a lot of amateurs. And my $13,000 forex trading account was reduced to about $4,000 they kept telling to stay a member of happy traders FX and I decided to subscript to a second month thinking maybe things will turn around but it NEVER HAPPENED instead I followed the live calls in the room and lost even more money. And the results that are posted on their site are fake and un achievable. So im looking for any addition reviews about happytradersfx and wonder if any other traders think this is a scam that needs to be stopped. Also if you can recommend me another forex trading group that maybe is free or has a really good trading system with a good solid track record please post it! Thank you. Because my online forex trading account is in bad shape... This is the only place i was able to find reviews and ratings on about happytradersfx on a forex review site called: forex signal reviews below is a link to the comments and testimonials left by there past members. http://forexsignalsforum.com/forex-signals-review/120-happy-traders-fx-review.html so if you can help answer my question and find a better forex signal service i will be very grateful thank you!
Are there any websites where I can see world records for currency trading? Such as most consecutively profitable trades, highest % profit of all time on one account, most overall profits in an hour/day/week and the most trades without a loss. My record on the practice account I started a while back was 4/4 profitable trades with a total profit of about 3%. Too bad I don't currently have enough money to make a living doing this though. Anyone else tried forex trading before, if so what is/was your success rate? I didn't mean publish the names of the people or anything like that. I think it would be beneficial to a company though if they showed just how successful someone can be in the FX market, to inspire people by showing what is possible. I think it would encourage the spirit of competition and get more people involved in the FX market.
why doesn't china understand the basic? the question is, why doesnt china companies simply sell goods it makes to itself? why doesnt chinese government use all those forex holdings, and all the trillions in piles of cash and spend it on its own citizens instead of keep on buying debt that doesnt get repaid until like 5 years later? some of you will say, 1. its because of money! they make more money off America so of course! but this is not true, china get the minority of profits from the "manufacturing process" that happens in every "made in china" product, most profit are at the end of the line, not at the beginng. 2. china faces huge risk of inflation that's true but we're talking about infrastructure and improving standard of living, dont they want the products they make (even though its like second-rated...) is it because the government is greedy and it just spend on itself and doesn't care for anybody??? thats kind of a lame explanation though
I need $30,000 so I can trading stocks but I currently cant figure out a way get a hold of that much money? Ever since I was in middle school Ive known that I wanted to make my living trading stocks. I'm getting tired of paper trading, Ive developed a strategy that is a winner but I need day trading privileges to put it into execution. Ive always viewed the money markets (stock market, forex) as the best wealth generators available. But I wasn't born into alot of money and have no rich friends or family, so its extremely difficult for me to come across the $30,000 I need to start trading stocks with day trading privileges. So what I need help with is ways to raise the capital. I made some mistakes earlier in life so I don't have a good credit rating and Im not a home owner. The most frustrating part of it all is knowing that I have the ability to do something great but I lack the resources. so please pour in the suggestions. Email me if you have any further questions bjulyjayjr@yahoo.com thanks in advance

Forex Currency Trading? I am looking into opening an account with forex and I had a few questions. I have on of their practice accounts and I like it but some times the exchange rates do not change. The rates freeze up from time to time. Why is this? Is the market closed at some time? Also is this just with my practice account or does this happen with live accounts too. Another question is what is the minimum investment that you can start an account with and be able to trade? I know its like $250 or something, but when you trade, the smallest amount is like $100,000. I know that with leverage that can be $1,000 but is there any way to get that lower? Thanks for any responses!
